Magic those wrinkles away!

Can you trick human skin cells into regenerating?  It sounds to good to be true, yet L’Oreal hopes to use this technology to introduce a range of anti wrinkle creams.

Experts in ‘glycobiology’, which scientifically means using naturally occurring sugars to improve the health, can also improve the damaged skin.

L’Oreal ‘registered as Glycanactif hope to launch a cosmetic range this year.

Peter Seeberger, director at Max Planck Institute in Berlin indicated research shows biochemical changes to skin improvement.

Working with L’Oreal he hopes the cream will stimulate  and dramatically improve the appearance of the skin.

A procedure using artificial chemicals to act as natural ones does the trick by regenerating skin cells.

It is surprising to think that lots of scientific experimentation abounds in the cosmetic industry may actually have beneficial side effects.

Richard Gallo professor of dermatology at the university of California said ‘results are good but as yet we’re unsure if these molecules really get into the skin’.

Open to all views he hopes these chemicals will prove beneficial.  But on the other hand is this news in fact more hype in the cosmetic industry.

We will have to wait and see as the product is still undergoing research and is yet to be released.  If it does in fact work as it says it will, we imagine L’Oreal products will be flying off the counter in the very near future.

This will be great news for those that are looking for that little extra skin boost!

Wrinkles, lines, grey and tired looking skin tends to appear twice as worse after the party season as most of us are in much need of a good night’s sleep!  The cold harsh weather conditions also affect our skin, again making it feel a little lackluster and under the weather as appose to really glowing

Sequins and stars

Every girl loves to add a little sparkle to her life and by that we mean to her wardrobe!  This season has certainly given us a pass to do just that and sparkle we will!

Sequins and stars are both killer trends this season and we are now even seeing them side-by-side!  Whether you opt for a head to toe print style or a subtle addition, both of these trends will certainly allow for a carefree party style.

Metallic sequins are a must this year and appear to be the new grunge-vintage take on the original sequin style.  These sequins are worn with flats and carefree tees for a laid back look that still screams party but in a different way.

Dolce & Gabbana are certainly one fashion house to look to when it comes to this season’s trends of stars and sequins.  They have released the metallic sequin with star combo and such a style comes in the shape of a long sleeved maxi that is perfect for the winter season and looks great teamed with killer chunky heels and opaque tights.

Wear with curls and statement watches as well as a few in your face rings for the ultimate style queen look!

Other pieces to invest in include the likes of a star embellished jumper, a pair of metallic skinnies in super shiny red, a cute pair of embellished sequin shorts, a metallic skirt with zip additions, a statement full length sequin maxi, a tie up star sheer top and of course, a pair of killer lace-up metallic heels!

All of these pieces are must-have wardrobe investments for this season and will look very in fashion throughout the whole of the winter months.

Bargain or blow out?

Some fashions are just too ridiculously priced for many fashionistas to even consider!  However trends that generally take to the runway tend to be re-released in a variety of similar styles on the high street!  So if you have found something on the runway that you want in your wardrobe now, check out the high street for a runway copy!  The copies are generally pretty good and allow you to keep your bank manager happy at the same time!

This season is all about a little serious Balmainia.  The outfit in question was seen at the recent runway shows and revealed a very cutesy skirt in deed!

Balmain is certainly high up in the fashion charts and everything they release seems to be snapped up in an instance!  This season they revealed a very daring mini that was created using an array of sequins.

This particular mini was dressed down rather than up and was seen worn with a cutesy grey slouchy tee and white boots.  This is a great item for this season as it ticks all the right boxes for smart casual!  Think statement sequins toned down with comfy casuals and you are good to go!

We went out to the high street to source a similar style that won’t break your bank balance!  New Look offer a cool alternative that comes in the shape of a high waisted puffball style skirt in a silver patterned sequin enthused fabric.  If this doesn’t get a few heads turning, we don’t know what will!

Next up is Zara, there take on the sparkle skirt is also a great one and such a style comes in the form of a sheer edged statement mini glittering with an array of tiny coloured sequins.  This didn’t look to OTT as the sequins were kept at a subtle shade.

Gestuz is another brand to watch out for; their sequin mini offered another head turner and came in the shape of a body con black and silver number.

Finally we have All Saints who house a grunge mini enthused with bronze, gold and black sequins.

The must-have gifts!

Christmas is just around the corner and this season is all about buying on a budget and being on time.  There is no use rushing around on the eve of Christmas, as you will only be left with little choice and an unhappy set of friends!

Think cute and fun and you can’t go wrong.  Statement cowl necks are a must!  After all December is cold and this will not only be a much-needed gift, it is also something that is right on trend!

Next up is cute, statement tape, tape anything you wish stylishly together this season!

A Moritz Art Deco Diamond ring is a gift for a loved one or alternatively something to stick on your Christmas wish list.

If you require something a little less expensive, opt for a statement ring from the Andrea Garland Fox collection.  It is in fact a ring and lip balm in one!

A bird-embellished plate is a cute gift for someone that has a new home.  It will look super swanky in their new kitchen and is right on trend for the new season!

A zip clutch in a bright colour is a must for those that wish to spruce up an otherwise simple outfit.  Team it with matching accessories for best results.

A moustache handlebar corkscrew is a fun and cute gift for girls and guys!  It will certainly come in handy on Christmas day!  Some one has to open all that wine after all!

A Hackney Empire cute cushion is the perfect addition to any room, especially the living room!  It will brighten up the place no sooner than it has been unwrapped and revealed!

The new black

Coloured biker jackets are proving to be this season’s new black and it’s no wonder when they add a hit of colour to anything and everything.

Celebs left right and centre are rocking this trend!  Nicole Ritchie was seen sporting a white studded number.  She teamed this with a long velvet black maxi skirt and simple whit tee.  She pulled her hair back into a ballet bun and added a hot red statement patent leather clutch to the mix.

Melanie Laurent went for a statement mustard colour.  She wore this with black trousers, a simple, tee, a statement hat and a loose scarf.  She finished the look with a huge pair of shades!

Clara Padget went for a deep maroon snakeskin number, which she wore with all black.  She left her hair loose and surfer like and added some grey slouchy arm candy to the mix, a statement look I think you would agree!

Kate Moss opted for a bright blue biker, which she teamed with high waisted smart trousers and a loosely tied scarf.  This is certainly one way to add a fierce edge to an otherwise demure outfit.

When you opt for a bargain or an investment buy, make sure you invest in some sort of leather biker this season!  Choose from brightly coloured and studded creations to simple and metallic looks!  It is certainly a hot hit this year!

If you wish to create a warmer outfit for the winter months, team with a fur gilet or add a fur collar to the mix.  This will mean you can wear your beloved jacket all year round!  It looks just as good with skirts as it does with skinny jeans!

The perfect red pout

Red lips are a great way to make a statement; they will do so even if they are the only part of your look you change!

However it’s also a tricky colour to create and pull off if you don’t know how to work it!

So just how do you create the perfect red lips? Well we got a few tips from a top make-up connoisseur in order to help you along the way!

The best way to choose a lip colour is to not go by what it looks like on your hand, which is how most people test it! Once on your lips however, your natural colour will push through causing it to look a completely different shade.

Use a lip primer on your lips prior to applying the lip shade, this way you will neutralise the actual colour of your lips and the lipstick will stand out!

You should always line your lips with a similar coloured lip liner when using extremely bright lip colours! This will prevent the lip colour from running and creating a vampire effect.

Make sure your lips are moisturized prior to applying a lip colour, otherwise the colour may crack and appear undone. Use a lip balm regularly in order to keep them in tip-top condition and apply throughout the day.

A good lip-balm is a great investment during the winter as the harsh weather can often cause our lips to appear dry and chapped!

Lip liner also works to create a fuller set of lips, which is something desired by most of us girls! It’s certainly a better option than surgery anyway!

Winter hair do’s and don’ts

Winter can be tough on hair. Suffering through the months with dry, dull or damaged hair can be difficult and frustrating, but there are various measures you can take in order to protect your lovely locks and keep you looking great no matter how rough the winter gets.

The first step in taking care of your hair is prevention. Preventing as much damage as you can is much easier than finding a solution afterwards! When you’re out and about in wintery conditions, whether cold and crisp or damp and windy, wearing a scarf or hat can keep your hair from being exposed to the elements. However, wearing a hat all the time can have the reverse effect, especially if is too tight. Keep a nice balance, but make sure not to go outside with wet hair on a very cold day – it might freeze!

Another key tip for taking care of your hair in winter is to be minimalistic with styling and products. The winter cold can dry out your hair, so a key part of looking after it is keeping it well moisturized. It may sound like a contradiction in terms, but washing your hair too much can actually result in it becoming drier. Dowsing your hair in cold water at the end of the shower will keep it healthier and lock in more moisture. You should also avoid excessive heat styling, especially in winter but all year round too. Pick shampoos, conditioners and styling products that feature terms such as “replenishing” or “heat protecting”. If you are straightening your hair constantly, then looking into investing in some quality straighteners. GHD’s are the best and cheap ghds are available on the internet – just look for offers and remember to buy from respected retailers or the official site!

One of the most essential products for taking care of your hair in winter is a good conditioner. Conditioning your hair can really make an important difference to its quality, feel, and appearance. Leave-in conditioners are also great for infrequent use, as these will lock in the maximum amount of moisture for the week and prevent your hair from drying out over time.
